More Than A Donation

✽
Fight Local Hunger
Your gift helps put food on the table for Idaho children and families, especially during school breaks when access to school meals disappears.
-
✽
Support Learning
Hunger and unmet basic needs can make it harder for children to concentrate, participate, and succeed in school. Your support helps create the stability children need to be ready to learn.

Strengthen Families
Providing groceries, hygiene products, clothing, and other essentials can ease pressure on a family's budget and help parents focus limited resources where they're needed most.

Create Safe Spaces
Feeling safe, cared for, and supported matters. By helping families meet everyday needs, we can help create more stable environments where children can grow, learn, and thrive.

Build Community
A donation does more than fill a box. It connects neighbors, schools, businesses, churches, and volunteers around a shared purpose: taking care of the children and families who make up our community.
The Monumental Impacts of Our Work
"I am very grateful for you taking time and money to help me and my family. We have been struggling a lot this year especially with mom getting cancer. So, as though it may seem like a little rain, it means the world to have resources to help us.
Thank you.”

“One of our boys helping was able to deliver food boxes to his own family today (with our Vice Principal) and a jacket for his little brother. When they pulled up to his house, the parents were crying and little brother was jumping up and down, so excited for his new jacket.”

We support local children and families experiencing hardship by working with schools and trusted community partners to identify needs. Our goal is to help families access food, clothing, hygiene items, holiday support, and other essentials that help create stability and support a child’s ability to learn and thrive.
-
We partner with local schools that already know and serve the families in their communities. This helps us respond to genuine needs while protecting families’ privacy and dignity. Food For Thought does not publicly identify the children or families receiving assistance.

Businesses, schools, and organizations can also host a Giving Tree or donation drive.
